How to Groom a Rabbit

Hope y'all are having a great weekend! Today I'm going to teach y;all how to groom a rabbit, the rabbit in the pictures is my rabbit Snickers.  Grooming a rabbit can be difficult or easy depending on how cooperative your rabbit is.  In my case my rabbit can be difficult during this shoot she decided it would be nice to jump out of the bath tub 4 times and splash water all over the bathroom and some on the camera.  Though the washing the rabbit isn't even the hard part the hard part is drying the rabbit but we will get to that soon.
Lets just start out with what you will need.

What you need:
  • Rabbit Shampoo; $4.99 at most pet stores
  • Rabbit or cat brush: $5.00 at the most at most pet stores
  • Rabbit or dog nail clippers most people use rabbit but I find that dog clippers work best for me; rabbit clippers ar 45.99 at most pet stores
  • Two towels you will probably want to use ones you don't really care about

First put a towel on the floor of your bath tub, and then fill it with 1 inch of water at the most, and then place the rabbit in the tub and wet the rabbit but don't get it on his?her ears like I did.

Next put lather the shampoo through his/her fur .

Then wash all the shampoo out of the fur, by the end the rabbit should look like a mop.

Then slightly wring his/her fur on her feet, tail and body out.  And try to dry off her fur a lot, this could take a while so you might just want to blow dry it.
If you blow dry his/her fur than put the heat on low or medium on high power. Make sure you move the blow dryer around so you don't burn the rabbit.

Next after the rabbit is dry, brush his/her fur but don't press to hard because one time I cut her skin on accident :(.

Lastly to trim the rabbit's nails, first at the rabbits nails so you know were the quick is if the rabbit's nails are light like Snicker's nails than it is easier, but if they are dark than shine a light through them and then you should be able to see them. After all this you could give your bunny a treat such as some banana or a strawberry.

~Hope you have a good week come back again~
